Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first position in the production department at Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. The CBS station of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drug trafficking and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news on English until 9pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning on channel Spanish channel. In addition, she was frequently required to act as an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. In that station, she was given greater accountability. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was a host of sports for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. She also played the role on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22 the 22nd of November, 1984 in Mexico City. There is an older sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Soon after, her parents separated and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, younger Collins was able to take a job along with her sister. Antonietta was a senior in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University to see if the school suited her. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she was looking for. After finishing her high school education, she chose to attend the University and major in Media Studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the manager for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his passion for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
